Delta T Industrial - Anti-Condensation

Delta T Industrial – Anti-Condensation (DTI-AC) is a specially formulated version of Mascoat’s already successful and widely-used Delta T Industrial Thermal Insulating Coating. Throughout the years of making DTI, Mascoat’s lab has been researching special materials that would play a major role in redesigning the product to specifically attack and prevent condensation in industrial environments. This product has now been labeled DTI-AC.

DTI-AC is a composite ceramic insulation coating system that reduces or completely eliminate condensation, provides an insulating barrier, protect personnel and equipment, and block corrosion - all in one easy-to-apply product.

Condensation is caused by a difference in temperature between two sides of a surface, resulting in one surface being lower than the dew point. When the temperature falls below the dew point, water vapor is released next to the surface, resulting in condensation. In some industrial applications, this is hard to overcome.

When condensation occurs, workplaces run the serious risk of severe accidents, equipment is subjected to water that can cause corrosion, and biological growth can cause health issues. To reduce the chance for condensation to occur, a thermal barrier is needed to buffer the temperature to at least 1.5°F above the dew point. That barrier is Delta T Industrial - Anti-Condensation.

DTI-AC is a no-VOC, non-toxic, and non-combustible coating comprised of a match-formulated matrix of air-encapsulated insulation particles held in suspension by a high-grade acrylic binder. The coating works to reduce condensation by forming a nearly-solid thermal barrier, which is applied directly to the substrate or primer. Thermal insulation particles encased in its low conduction binder allow for substantial reduction or total elimination of condensation, depending on the thickness of the coating.

Another benefit of DTI-AC is the elimination of CUI, or Corrosion Under Insulation. Since the coating has a direct bond, or cross linking directly, to the surface, there is no room for corrosion to begin. This tight bond has been proven in both salt fog and accelerated weather studies equated to 20 years (2000 hrs) of prolonged testing.

DTI-AC is appropriate for substrate temperatures under 200°F (93°C) on all types of substrates. For higher temperatures, Delta T Industrial is a perfect solution. DTI-AC is applied via airless spray systems, reducing installation costs and time. Also, because it is applied directly to the substrate, the substrate is viewable at all times, This allows for easy maintenance and inspection without total shutdown, breakdown or downtime.
